For 14 minutes, some PPs in the region reported feeling neglected. Engineers increased attentiveness. All PPs have since been touched to specification.
A retry storm caused a small number of PPs to be touched more than once per request. Idempotency keys held. No PP was touched beyond contractually agreed parameters, and several declined to file feedback.
Routine. Touching continued uninterrupted on standby hands.
Lingering was briefly reported in minutes instead of milliseconds. Several customers wrote in to say the numbers "finally felt right." The fix was deployed regardless.

mode: "gentle" was, according to telemetry, not gentle enough.DELETE /v1/touches endpoint continues to return 501. What's touched cannot be untouched. This is documented behavior.
